Cutler's History

In October, 1980 Sandra Cutler wanted to help supplement her husbands income so she opened a small store front in Bountiful, Utah to sell delicious home made cookies, fresh baked bread and pizza by the slice. Her idea was simple, just make a quality product, offer it at a fair price and make people feel comfortable at her store. She was successful and very busy right away. Sandra remembers with a smile how other local business men would marvel at how people would stand in line for one of “Mrs. Cutlers Cookies”. By 1984 the little store front had become a full time family business and they moved to a bigger building on main street in Bountiful. The pizza by the slice and fresh baked bread had been replaced with home made soups and the now famous “Cutlers Sandwiches” but the cookies were more popular than ever and still the main attraction. In 1991 we moved to a new building on 5th south in Bountiful. This is the location that most people today think of as the “original Cutlers”. In the years that followed we have had numerous locations along the Wasatch Front and our product is sold in grocery stores, home delivery (Winder Dairy) a variety of retail outlets. We currently have 3 Cutlers locations in Bountiful, Centerville and Layton.

Mrs. Cutler still is very involved and makes sure that her recipes don’t change. It costs a little more the way we make our cookies, we only use real butter, eggs, the best chocolate… but it wouldn’t be a Cutlers Cookie any other way. We have grown up a lot over all these years but one thing has never changed: We still believe that if we just focus on making a quality product, selling it at a fair price and helping our customers feel comfortable in our stores You will keep coming back. Thank you for your business. Don’t forget your cookies.
